Wave's Corporate Social Responsibility Journey

Whilst we are a small business, the entire team at Wave is passionate about having a positive impact through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Size really shouldn’t matter and we’re big believers in doing what we can for local and international causes.

So with that in mind, we are currently supporting two very different but equally important organisations. One is local to our HQ in Bristol and the other has an international footprint when it comes to tackling climate change.

Tackling climate change

As a small business it’s important for Wave to be able to make simple and impactful environmental action where we can. That’s why we’re one of 14,665* businesses that are taking climate action in partnership with Ecologi

Ecologi was initially founded by a group of environmentalists in Bristol, UK. They were frustrated that many of us are not able to contribute enough to the colossal climate problem.

It started in late 2018, when Founder Elliot Coad was on his morning commute to work. He was buying a coffee just as he had done thousands of times before, and asked himself: How much climate action could I fund with the money for a coffee?

Reforestation is widely understood as a major natural climate solution. From an ecological point of view, as a society, we’re only just grasping the cost of what life is like without trees.

However, Wave is proud to have so far planted 481* real trees with Ecologi! Below you'll find a breakdown of the projects we’ve supported so far:

We plant trees with Ecologi

As a business we are now part of a membership that has funded a total of 47.6 million trees to be planted across the planet and that equates to CO2e reduction of 2.2 million tonnes.

Supporting Bristol

Our founders Harry and Cath work in and breathe Bristol, and they also live there with their two young children, Robbie and Meredith.

When Robbie was born in October 2019, Harry and Cath accessed the services at Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for support with Robbie’s Down’s Syndrome right from birth. They continue to visit the hospital for regular check-ups with the amazingly dedicated team. Everyone in Bristol likely knows someone who has needed The Grand Appeal at some point as they raise money for life-saving equipment, family accommodation, wellbeing support and paediatric research to anyone who lives or visits the South West of England and has a national referral service.

As such, Wave is proud to donate a portion of its monthly turnover to The Grand Appeal.

There's no messing around with us at Wave, we're honest, dedicated and we care - we're good fun too!
